All the stories are true...
That's right! We're getting a TV show based on The Mortal Instruments, and if you haven't heard about it yet you've probably been living under a rock! No, I'm serious. So about two months ago 'Shadowhunters' -as the show will be called- started to rise to popularity in social media. It all started when @McGsWonderland tweeted;
"There was something fierce about the gesture... @CassieClare @Shadowhunterstv

Soon after, it was revealed that one of our leads whom will play our favorite and swoon worthy Shadowhunter, Jace, is actor Dominic Sherwood. After that we got Simon, Isabelle, Clary, Alec, Luke, Valentine, Magnus, and Jocelyn. (Young Clary as well) whom all will be played by (and in order of casting...) Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Kat McNamara, Matthew Daddario (His sister Alexander Daddario played Annabeth in the umm What do you mean there were Percy Jackson movies?...) Isaiah Mustafa, Alan Van Sprang, Harry Shum Jr. , and Maxim Roy. But we can't forget Sofia Wells who will be playing an ADORABLE Clary Fray as a little girl!

So now that we have casting out of the way let's talk about the controversy on the subject...

Many people argued over the fact that Emeraude is Latino and won't be a good Isabelle, or how Isaiah is black and Luke isn't in the books, or how people could just not see Harry Shum Jr. play such a 'seirous'(?) role.
While I'll admit I didn't like Emeraude at first (because I had a specific image in mind of Isabelle) I didn't hate on her and I came to terms with it the next day. But I had no problem welcoming Isaiah and Harry into our Shadowhunter family!
I didn't exactly understand why people were mad, of course I was shocked that they cast him and gave us such a big surprise but to me Isaiah just has this friendly look that reminded me of Luke.
And as for Harry... People just need to get over the fact that he starred on Glee. There is absolutely no problem with that at all! If anything it makes him a bit flamboyant which isn't that how Magnus is? Flamboyant but Timeless and mature?
The only casting I had a problem with was Alec and it's not that I had a problem with Matthew in particular it was that I had a perfect idea of what he'd look like and Matthew wasn't it for a while. Alec as everyone in the whole entire universe should know is my favorite character other than you know,,, the rest and The Infernal Devices which I'll talk about in a minute. But, did anyone else imagine Alec as like big, broad shoulders, tough looking, a bit tall and intimidating but with the sweetness of well, a kitten? Because I did.

So While we have most of our main cast who do you hope to see casted in the future?

Also I'd like to share a theory of mine, since they did call the show 'Shadowhunters' we could basically twist in our other Shadowhunter stories with it... *cough cough* The Infernal Devices!!! Think about it. The best way to read 'The Shadowhunter Chronicles' is City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince, Clockwork Princess, City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost Souls, and finally City of Heavenly Fire. (Not to mention The Tales from the Shadowhunter  Academy and The Bane Chronicles) So if you think about it they might have to twist in Tessa's story to reveal Brother Zachariah in CoHF...

WHOOPS! Editing this blog post and realizing we also have David Castro as Raphael, Jon Cor as Hodge, Vanessa Matsui as Madame 'Dot' Dorothea, and Mouna Traore as Midori (A character Ed Decter created whom will be one of Valentines minions)
