The Sick Book Tag|Tyler & Makayla

12:05:00 PM

We weren't tagged by anyone to do this, but I was researching fun posts and really liked this tag! Let's get started!

------------------------------------------------
1) Diabetes - a book too sweet, like really sweet.
Tyler: Oh! I really love this. A sweet book? I immediately want to say anything by Stephanie Perkins or Rainbow Rowell, but then I have to choose one! I'm going to say Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. It was just so cute and full of feelings!

Makayla: Ooh, this'll be fun! Immediately, I thought of Stephanie Perkins and Rainbow Rowell like Tyler, but I'm going to have to go with a new book I read this year (it has many awards so you should go read it) which is Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz! This was one of my favorites of the year! It's just super sweet, and I just love it! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12000020-aristotle-and-dante-discover-the-secrets-of-the-universe

2) Chicken Pox - a book you've read once, and will never pick up again.
Tyler: Virals by Kathy Reichs. I have a review for this book up on the blog if you wanna check it out. I didn't hate this book, but it definitely wasn't my favorite. I only read it because it had been on my shelf for months.

Makayla: Prepare for the shade that is about to come... This one would have to be Killer Instinct by S. E. Green. (There is a review up on the blog if you wanna check it out.) It wasn't that it was a bad book it's just... it was a bad book. It lacked unique creativity of any kind and it copied scenes to an exact from Dexter. I don't plan on picking up the sequel anytime soon... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18343196-killer-instinct

3) Influenza - a contagious book that spreads like virus.
Tyler- I'm not sure if this is how the question is meant to be interpreted, but I'm going to assume that it means a book that gradually became something that EVERYONE is reading. So for me, that would be Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. It totally deserves the hype! Here's me passing the disease!

Makayla: I'm going to go with Tyler's interpretation here. There are so many books that have spread like a virus, for example; Twilight by Stephanie Meyer (you should know this by now), The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (you should also know this), Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan... But I'm going to go with Percy Jackson and the Olympians because unlike how it is now, they weren't very popular when I read them, and I knew exactly one person that read them (fetus bookworm aww!) but now the series has gotten so big and Percy still holds a special place in my heart today! (Guess it's time I finally read the last book!)

4) The Cycle - a book you read every month, year or often.
Tyler: The only books that I can recall rereading are The Tale of Despereaux and Rick Riordan's books(Kane Chronicles, The Percy Jackson and The Olympians, The Heroes of Olympus).

Makayla: Any bookworm that knows me knows I'm overly obsessed with The Mortal Instruments and  The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. Especially with The Shadowhunter Academy ebooks coming out every month this year, I continuously re-read the series and The Shadowhunter Academy ebooks! But mostly Born to Endless Night. (Side note: Cassie I almost died of the feels! *Chants* OTP! OTP! OTP!) https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/150038.Cassandra_Clare

5) Insomnia - a book that kept you up all night.
Tyler: I just finished this book the other day, and I didn't actually stay up late to read it... But! I definitely would have! The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard was so fabulous, and it definitely had me on the edge of my seat! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17878931-red-queen
Makayla: There are a couple of those. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe made me stay up until like six in the morning, and I finally stopped when I had around a hundred pages left and finished it the next day, but... I think I'll go with We Were Liars because that was a book that I finished in one sitting and had me on the edge the whole time. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16143347-we-were-liars

6) Amnesia - a book that is forgotten and failed to leave a powerful impression in your memory.
Tyler: This is a tough one for me. I'm going to go with Legend, Prodigy, and Champion by Marie Lu. I read this entire series in 3 days for BookTubeAThon in 2014. I remember it being really good and liking it, but I hardly remember anything about it which is really disappointing.

Makayla: This is so hard, can't I just choose multiple ones? Hmm.. There are only three books that come to mind. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews (which I so badly wanted to be amazing), These Broken Stars by Megan Spooner and Amie Kaufman (I don't even know man...), and duh duh duh... If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I'm not even going to choosehttps://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4374400-if-i-stay

7) Asthma - a book that took your breath away.
Tyler: Without a doubt, I'm going to say We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. I can't say why because of spoilers, but just know that I highly recommend this book!
Makayla: Ah! I agree with Tyler, but I'll choose my own anyway. I have to say Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. I've never read such an amazing book in my life! The writing is amazing and the story is so beautiful. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15745753-eleanor-park

8) Malnutrition - a book that lacked food for thought.
Tyler: Okay. This is tough. I really don't know! I can't really say anything for this question! The only book that comes to mind is Black City by Elizabeth Richards, but I haven't read the other two books in the series yet! I also have a review for this book on the blog!
Makayla: I'm not exactly sure what this question means but I'm going to go with that is lacks that special something. I'd have to say These Broken Stars by Megan Spooner and Amie Kaufman. I mean I'm not sure what happened, I thought I'd be good... The cover is GORGEOUS but it just wasn't that good. (I think I posted a review here on the blog, but there are so many books I've reviewed on here and Goodreads this year that I'm not entirely sure.) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13138635-these-broken-stars

9) Travel Sickness - a book that took you on a journey through time and space.
Tyler: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I think this is a really obvious answer, but it's the first one that comes to mind for obvious reasons! I really need to read Library of Souls, but I don't know when I'll get to it!
Makayla: Definitely, without a doubt, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs! This is one of my favorite trilogy's I've read this year! If you haven't read it you definitely need to!
